Pirat is a heirloom German butterhead type lettuce. The green exterior is tinged with reds making a beautiful looking head. The inner core of the head is smooth, almost velvety and has a light crisp flavor.
Start indoors or in a greenhouse 4-6 weeks before planting out. Best planted in spring, or late summer for fall harvest.
