Lemon drop peppers have a sweet citrus flavor with a kick of heat. Originally from Peru, these plants take a long time to fruit, but produce a prolific amount of peppers. Mature fruits are a pale/clear yellow and are perfect for making hot sauce, chili paste, or pepper jellies. Worth the wait in production if your season isn’t to short. They ripened fully for us in northern Connecticut by mid September. Plants benefit from staking and get about 2′ tall.
Start indoors or in a greenhouse 6-8+ week before last frost date. Transplant after last frost.
