Description
Nicotiana tabacum
Heirloom
Connecticut (CT) Broadleaf is world renowned as a cigar tobacco. Traditionally, CT Broadleaf has been grown in the CT river valley and is used as a cigar wrapper, but also makes an excellent cigar binder and filler. The taste and aroma of CT Broadleaf is extremely unique and sought after. Broadleaf cigars admit a rich, roasted, almost black coffee flavor, finished with black pepper and spice. Plants produce large, wide leaves that benefit from being topped as soon as flower buds appear. Leaves can be harvested individually (primed), but cure best when harvested and cured as full plants.
Seed is grown by Phocas Seeds in CT.
